Megan Dolle - Real Life in Salt Lake City Intern 2013
"Megan fell in love with
the Real Life in Salt Lake City (RLSLC) Program from day one and is so thankful
for the opportunity to serve as the Intern for the 2012-2013 year. Last year
was Megan’s first year with RLSLC and she was amazed at the number of friendships
she made not only with other Youthlinc volunteers, but also with all of the
refugees at The Hser Ner Moo Welcome Center. She is so excited to start working with them again, as
they never failed to put a smile on her face. Megan had the pleasure of being
the RLSLC Blogger and photographer as well as teach two lessons on
health/nutrition and bracelet making. While participating in Real Life, she
quickly realized how much the teens looked up to the volunteers and how much of
a difference she could make in their lives. The experience was incredibly
empowering and humbling, keeping Megan begging for more!
Megan is currently attending
the University of Utah as a freshman and is majoring in Biology with a minor in
Chemistry. Eventually, Megan aspires to attend medical school and travel the
world with Doctors without Border. Her hobbies include learning, photography,
skiing, and of course, serving! Megan loves being civically involved and
setting an example for her peers. She is so incredibly excited for the
2012-2013 service year to begin, and hopes everyone will choose RLSLC as their
main service site (you WON’T regret it!)"
